About the position

The Data & Research Scientist role is a critical position within the Cadillac Global Strategy & Operations Team, focusing on innovation and analytics. The primary purpose of this role is to leverage data science to support the development and execution of global strategy, research, and operations projects. The position requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to drive business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral member within the Cadillac Global Strategy & Operations Team, focusing on innovation and analytics.
  • Develop analytical solutions to address and improve KPIs and business results.
  • Conduct advanced data analysis and automation, including in-depth analysis and design of search patterns.
  • Mentor junior researchers and data scientists to enhance their analytical skills.
  • Continuously update knowledge on the latest software and hardware innovations and ideate on their application.
  • Establish strong working relationships with interdisciplinary teams including Enterprise Data and Analytics and GM IT.
  • Drive the acquisition of new data and refine existing datasets to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Create best practices for research instrumentation and experimentation and share them with peer teams.
  • Develop analytics to support complex event processing and real-time data analysis in big data contexts.
  • Serve as an expert in predictive and prescriptive analytics and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Use a structured approach for communicating data insights through data storytelling.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience using data to solve problems, hypothesis testing, and creating visualizations and storytelling to address business problems.
  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture and database management.
  • 8+ years of professional development experience.
  • Solid experience with Big Data technologies in Data Bricks platform using Python/R.
  • Master's degree in STEM fields required.
  • Ph.D. in STEM fields preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the auto industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Sharp technical, statistical, and math skills.
  • Strong data storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Displays curiosity and creativity.
