About the position
The Data Science Adjunct Faculty position involves teaching courses related to Machine Learning, Data Science, and Data Visualization during the Spring 2025 semester. Faculty members are responsible for delivering course content in accordance with the approved syllabus and schedule, utilizing interactive teaching methods and technologies. Faculty must also maintain accurate records, submit grades on time, and participate in the assessment of learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Teaches assigned courses in accordance with the description published in the catalog and the approved course syllabus.
- Incorporates interactive approaches, technologies, and methods into courses.
- Incorporates an appreciation of diverse lifestyles, cultures, and national perspectives into courses.
- Utilizes library resources, writing as an instructional method, and academic technologies in courses.
- Meets all scheduled class meetings and advises Division Dean/Assistant Dean of absences in a timely manner.
- Maintains accurate grade and attendance records for students and submits required reports.
- Submits grades per published deadline.
- Participates in assessment of learning outcomes and uses results in course planning.
- Plans in advance to ensure availability of supplies, textbooks, and classroom equipment.
- Submits progress reports on students for counseling and record-keeping purposes.
- Adheres to College policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Master's Degree required.
- Some teaching experience is required.
- Unofficial college transcripts must be submitted prior to interview.
Nice-to-haves
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Certification or license as needed and appropriate.
