About the position

The Data Science Analyst II at the City of Dallas is responsible for providing professional analysis, evaluation, and research of various data streams. This role utilizes large data sets to derive unique insights that support business needs and improve organizational processes. The analyst collaborates with management and department staff to address business questions, enhance decision-making, and optimize customer experiences through predictive modeling and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis that answers business questions and solves business needs.
  • Research, identify, and run database algorithms to find data sets and perform statistical analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to apply statistical analysis and pattern recognition to solve business issues.
  • Assist in the development of predictive modeling to enhance customer experiences and revenue generation.
  • Develop tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Provide detailed data sets to decision makers to drive program and service solutions.
  • Conduct studies, gather and analyze data, and develop reports and visual representations.
  • Document procedures for future reference and recommend improvements for data analysis processes.
  • Counsel clients in interpreting and summarizing statistical results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Management, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Four years of experience in database management, operations, and statistical analysis, including experience with machine learning frameworks such as Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and SQL Server.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field with two years of experience.
  • High school diploma or GED with eight years of relevant experience.
  • Associate degree with six years of relevant experience.
