About the position

The Data Science Applications Developer will provide advisory and assistance services to the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer, focusing on the development and integration of AI/ML algorithms and software applications in support of Fighter Test Services at Nellis AFB, NV. The role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create unified data analysis applications, enhancing operational test and evaluation processes through effective data management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide advisory and assistance services to the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer.
• Develop, refine, and integrate AI/ML algorithms and software applications.
• Manage and integrate unified data analysis applications across sites and with third-party organizations.
• Participate in the development of AI/ML use cases for data science and analytics processes.
• Support operational test and evaluation by merging information from multiple sources.
• Generate documentation detailing methodology, processes, and utilization of data transfer and analytics applications.
• Collaborate with customers to identify solution and data requirements.
• Develop data pipelines and storage, refine data flow, and integrate AI/ML algorithms.
• Establish a data ecosystem and application development cycle, defining use-cases and requirements for tool suites.
• Create a roadmap and development schedule for tool suite.
• Assess current visualization tools and review available toolsets for data exploration.
• Leverage APIs for efficient data extraction and integration into the development pipeline.
• Create documentation for development pipeline and initial capabilities.
• Define follow-on use-cases and manage daily tasks for roadmap execution.
• Develop exploratory data analysis capabilities and create necessary documentation.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• 8 or more years of experience in data science or data analysis applications development and integration.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL is required; experience with Hadoop is desired and C++ is optional.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Fighter aircraft knowledge and test experience is desired but not required.
