TransUnion is seeking an intern for the Data Science and Analytics team, who will conduct a research project independently or as part of a team under the supervision of a senior member. The internship is designed to provide practical knowledge of analytic applications in industries utilizing consumer credit data. The intern will be responsible for reviewing the proposed research topic and generating a problem-solving methodology in collaboration with their supervisor. This methodology should either demonstrate a technique not commonly used by the department or provide a substantial process improvement to a commonly used method. The intern will manage the chosen project independently and provide periodic progress reports to their supervisor. The intern will also design an appropriate testing environment to measure the applicability of the proposed methodology to the needs of the business unit and compare it with alternative approaches. They will create any necessary software code to produce findings and carefully document all sources and research findings. At the conclusion of the project, the intern will prepare a summary of findings in an internal white paper for senior management and present these findings to research sponsors. Additionally, the intern may conduct training for other associates as appropriate and provide support for Data Science and Analytics projects beyond the scope of the research project as needs arise. This position is hybrid, requiring in-person attendance at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
