About the position

The Data Science Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the investment strategies and operations of a leading alternative investment firm. This position involves applying advanced analytics and statistical methods to evaluate investment opportunities and drive innovation within the private equity business.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced analytics to evaluate live investment opportunities, collaborating with portfolio company management teams to enhance business value.
• Source, incorporate, and analyze alternative datasets to support investment processes and drive innovation in the private equity business.
• Ensure a strong commitment to quantitative methods, algorithmic fairness, and data privacy across all aspects of the data analysis process.
• Collaborate effectively with deal teams, portfolio company management teams, and senior management to underwrite investments, enhance operating efficiencies, and identify new value sources.

Requirements

• Master's degree required in statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
• 7-10 years of experience in a data science role.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• A strong foundation in statistics and mathematics.
• Prior experience in financial services or consulting, particularly private equity, is strongly preferred.
