About the position

The Data Science Senior Consultant (GenAI/LLM) at Clarkston Consulting is responsible for delivering innovative business solutions to clients in the life sciences, consumer products, and retail sectors. This role involves conducting data analysis, developing statistical and machine learning models, and mentoring junior analysts, all while working collaboratively within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct exploratory analysis and produce descriptive statistics based on data.
  • Develop statistical and machine learning models for proof of concept and production-ready applications.
  • Drive ideation and execution of experiments and in-market tests.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior analysts.

Requirements

  • 3 years of data science experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Experience drawing insights from large data sets and manipulating data using various methods and tools.
  • Solid understanding of statistical techniques such as correlation, regression, outlier detection, and significance.
  • Strong experience building end-to-end predictive models, including parametric and non-parametric models.
  • Highly skilled in utilizing Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLM), and/or Machine Learning (ML) tools.
  • Experience with various machine learning techniques for supervised and unsupervised learning, including classification, regression, time series forecasting, and clustering.
  • Experience optimizing, testing, and documenting results of machine learning models.
  • Knowledge of common machine learning pitfalls and strategies to avoid them, including normalization, feature selection, optimization, and validation.
  • Experience querying databases with strong familiarity in SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of production environment tasks, including analyzing model drift, version control, security strategy, and monitoring.
  • Ability to share technical solutions and product ideas through design reviews, pair programming, and code/model reviews.
  • Masters or PhD in Math, Statistics, Engineering, or a relevant field for data science applications.
