About the position

GeoLogics Corporation is seeking a TS/SCI Cleared Data Scientist Analyst to perform exploratory research and analysis to identify significant patterns in data. The role involves using statistical methods to validate hypotheses and provide business value through data insights. The position requires a strong background in data science, machine learning, and statistical analysis, with a focus on solving complex business problems through innovative data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform exploratory research and analysis to identify novel and meaningful patterns in data.
  • Use statistical methods to validate or reject proposed hypotheses about relationships or latent predictive factors.
  • Extract and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Query structured data from relational databases using SQL.
  • Gather unstructured data through web scraping, APIs, and surveys.
  • Employ analytical methods, machine learning, and statistical techniques for predictive modeling.
  • Clean and preprocess data to prepare it for analysis and modeling.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop predictive models and new algorithms to address business challenges.
  • Communicate findings and predictions through effective data visualizations and reports.
  • Recommend cost-effective changes to existing procedures and strategies.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
  • 11+ years of professional experience in data science or related field
  • Experience in exploratory research and analysis of data
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying
  • Familiarity with machine learning and statistical methods
  • Experience with applied statistics, text mining, and natural language processing
  • Ability to develop predictive models and algorithms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with data visualization techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GPU processing and distributed computing
  • Knowledge of deep learning and optimization techniques
  • Familiarity with cloud computing technologies
  • Experience in web scraping and data gathering from APIs.
