About the position

As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you will be at the forefront of unlocking the secrets held within complex data sets. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to transform massive amounts of structured and unstructured data into actionable insights. You will work closely with clients to understand their specific questions and needs, diving deep into their data-rich environments to piece together the information puzzle. Your leadership skills will be crucial as you guide and mentor your team, overseeing the development of algorithms and systems that provide objective answers to inform client decisions. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, defining, and documenting current design features, target architectures, and transformational roadmaps. You will provide a vision for the evolution of the U.S. Army ecosystem over time, conducting trade studies to identify and compare alternative design solutions as necessary. Your expertise in Agile methodologies, Cloud Infrastructure, and Software Management will be essential in defining the scope and approaches to new and emerging opportunities. Ultimately, your work will have a real-world impact, helping to solve global challenges through data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Unlock insights from complex data sets using IoT, machine learning, and AI.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their data needs and questions.
  • Guide and mentor team members in developing algorithms and systems.
  • Develop, define, and document design features and transformational roadmaps.
  • Conduct trade studies to identify and compare alternative design solutions.
  • Recommend data solutions to complex client challenges.
  • Apply Agile, Cloud Infrastructure, and Software Management expertise to new opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or mining.
  • 8+ years of experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis.
  • 8+ years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Experience developing predictive data models and leading complex program solutions.
  • Experience leading a team, including managing projects and deliverables.
  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or machine learning techniques.
  • Experience in web-based systems architecture and enterprise application environments.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Army policies on data and integrated product development.
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools like MapReduce, Hadoop, or Spark.
