About the position

As a Data Scientist / Architect, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with senior architects and delivery partners to ensure that all relevant project teams adhere to a unified set of principles and patterns. This position emphasizes the utilization of standard technology frameworks and libraries while applying architectural best practices that enhance execution velocity across projects. You will be responsible for researching and conducting proof of concepts (POCs) to ensure that solutions align with platform principles and standards. Additionally, you will drive the architecture for key cross-team and cross-product development projects by creating architecture and design documents, as well as developing key code modules. Your work will involve close collaboration with data scientists and other AI professionals to define the feasibility of use cases and architectural designs for the AI platform. You will be tasked with selecting appropriate deployment models—whether cloud, on-premises, or hybrid—and ensuring that new tools integrate seamlessly with existing data management and analytics tools. Engaging with business and delivery partners will be crucial to understanding future requirements and their implications for architecture. You will also identify architecture solution alternatives, driving business requirements while keeping abreast of new technologies. In this role, you will work closely with security and risk leaders to anticipate and mitigate risks associated with architectural decisions. Your responsibilities will include reviewing solutions and projects to ensure they are consistent with established methodologies in data and analytics, thereby ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of the architecture you help to build.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with data scientists and other AI professionals.
  • Define the feasibility of use cases along with architectural design for the AI platform.
  • Select cloud, on-premises or hybrid deployment models, ensuring new tools are well-integrated with existing data management and analytics tools.
  • Work with business and delivery partners to understand future requirements and implications for architecture.
  • Identify architecture solution alternatives, driving business requirements and availability of new technologies.
  • Identify new technologies and tools to support architecture(s) and determine architectural roadmaps.
  • Work closely with security and risk leaders to foresee and mitigate risks.
  • Review solutions and projects to ensure they are consistent with standard methodologies in data and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Computer Science, AI/ML).
  • 5 to 8 years of AI/ML development experience.
  • Data science and advanced analytics, including knowledge of advanced analytics tools (such as SAS, R, and Python).
  • DevOps workflows and tools, such as Git, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
  • AI Architecture - data management, governance, model building, and deployment.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience of AI/ML in AWS Cloud services.

Nice-to-haves

  • APIs, Apigee, Developer Portals. Expertise in JSON, RESTful services, and similar related tech.
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible, Nexus, Software defined networking.
