About the position

The Data Scientist position at the Generative AI Innovation Center at AWS involves applying cutting-edge Generative AI algorithms to solve real-world problems. The role focuses on collaborating with customers to implement bespoke generative AI solutions, providing guidance on best practices, and innovating in a fast-paced environment. The Data Scientist will design experiments, research new algorithms, and optimize solutions for various business challenges, contributing to significant transformational opportunities for AWS customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate cutting-edge generative AI algorithms.
• Interact with customers to understand their business problems and aid in the implementation of generative AI solutions.
• Deliver briefings and deep dive sessions to customers, guiding them on adoption patterns and paths to production.
• Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations for various stakeholders.
• Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building models for business applications.
• Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing, neural deep learning methods, and/or machine learning.
• Hands-on experience using Python and building models with deep learning frameworks like Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, or MXNet.
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or Master's degree and 2 years of experience.

Nice-to-haves

• PhD or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a highly quantitative field.
• Practical experience in solving complex problems in an applied environment.
• Hands-on experience building models with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, or JAX.
