About the position

The Data Scientist position within the Clinical Data Science team at CVS Health focuses on leveraging clinical data to enhance health outcomes across various business lines. The role involves developing predictive models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing advanced analytics techniques, including natural language processing, to extract insights from data. The Data Scientist will also contribute to the development of a clinical data feature store and create data visualizations to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in clinical data and its application to healthcare problems.
• Develop, validate, implement, and support predictive models and algorithms.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, and product owners to design and implement analytics solutions.
• Utilize natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights from text.
• Contribute to the development of the clinical data feature store.
• Explore, validate, interpret, and summarize large datasets using advanced statistical and mathematical approaches.
• Develop end-to-end analytics solutions from problem statements to model deployment.
• Build dashboards and data visualizations to communicate analysis results effectively.
• Create documentation for project details, including problem statements and ML model details.

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant analytics experience.
• Experience using SQL and Python in a cloud environment (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Experience solving analytics problems using advanced statistics, machine learning, and mathematical algorithms.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data.
• Experience using natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools like BigQuery, Vertex AI, DataProc, and Cloud Composer.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex ideas.
• Ability to anticipate and prevent roadblocks throughout a project lifecycle.
