About the position

The Data Scientist / Decision Scientist role at CVS Health focuses on leveraging advanced analytics and data science techniques to enhance provider networks and improve member engagement strategies. This position is integral to the Analytics & Behavior Change team, which aims to deliver impactful solutions that optimize healthcare access and quality. The role involves working with large datasets, developing predictive models, and utilizing machine learning to inform network strategy and enhance consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development, validation, and delivery of algorithms, statistical models, and reporting tools.
• Solve moderately complex analytical problems.
• Develop, validate, and execute algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems and recommend solutions.
• Explore, examine, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms.
• Perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve business problems using advanced statistical techniques.
• Develop data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for insights and reporting needs.
• Use data visualization techniques to communicate analytical results effectively.
• Create and evaluate the data needs of assigned projects and ensure data integrity.
• Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills and present information to various audiences.
• Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur.
• Demonstrate proficiency in data modeling, machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, data engineering, and data visualization.
• Work with large data sets from multiple data sources.

Requirements

• 2+ years' experience in Data Scientist or Decision Scientist role
• 2+ years' experience in programming in Python using Pandas for data manipulation
• 2+ years' experience writing strong, complex, and efficient queries in SQL
• 1+ years' experience working in Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline
