About the position

As a Data Scientist in the Early Career program at Viasat, you will play a crucial role in developing a satellite coverage evaluator service. This position involves utilizing advanced data science and machine learning techniques to assess performance metrics and ensure optimal connectivity and service level agreements. You will work collaboratively with multi-functional teams to create production-ready data products, leveraging your skills in data manipulation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to develop a satellite coverage evaluator service.
• Work with large datasets to manipulate structured and unstructured data.
• Identify inconsistencies and clean large amounts of data using software tools.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop production-ready data products.

Requirements

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics or related quantitative field between May 2023-August 2025.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience working with big data/visualization tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana).
• Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, linear algebra, and/or machine learning algorithms.
• Expertise in data wrangling, exploratory analysis, and/or feature engineering techniques.
• Current US Citizenship.

• Previous Viasat internship experience.
