About the position

The Data Scientist/Engineer role at Shift Technology focuses on leveraging AI to enhance insurance processes. The position is integral to the Data Science team, which is the largest in the organization, and involves working with various data types to implement data engineering solutions, develop and tune models, and automate business tasks. The role requires collaboration with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful deployment of enterprise-level solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the US Subrogation roadmap and client projects.
• Implement data engineering processes from client extracts to data storage (SQL, ElasticSearch).
• Develop, test, and tune models for fraud detection and automation in complex environments.
• Automate key business tasks within the production process framework using C#.
• Conduct meetings with clients and interact with external stakeholders for feedback and roadmap definition.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in data science or engineering roles.
• Proficiency in writing maintainable, production-quality code.
• Understanding of statistics and machine learning problems.
• Comfortable with client-facing communication.
• Interest in learning the business aspects of insurance products.

Nice-to-haves

• Degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience developing applications with actual users.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
