About the position

As a Data Scientist specializing in Generative AI at Capgemini, you will leverage your expertise in data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to tackle complex business challenges. This role involves owning the design and implementation of advanced generative AI solutions, ensuring they align with client needs and business objectives. You will collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to assess business requirements, identify challenges, and explore opportunities for innovative AI applications. Your responsibilities will include leading the end-to-end technology stack assessment and architecture design for generative AI solutions, which encompasses system components, data pipelines, and deployment strategies. You will also be responsible for integrating these solutions into broader IT systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance. In addition to solution design, you will develop both high-level and detailed architectures for AI projects, taking into account critical factors such as data integration, scalability, security, and ongoing sustainability. As a domain expert in AI technologies, you will engage in hands-on development and delivery of generative AI solutions, guiding the selection of appropriate components and algorithms based on project objectives and data characteristics. Your role will also involve defining governance frameworks to ensure the ethical and responsible use of generative AI technologies, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Furthermore, you will support the sales team in pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise, participating in client meetings, and contributing to proposal development. This will require you to translate client requirements into feasible AI solutions, showcasing your ability to bridge technical and business domains effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Lead the end-to-end tech stack assessment and architecture design for generative AI solutions.
  • Integrate GenAI solution components into broader IT systems and corresponding architecture.
  • Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures for AI projects considering data integration, scalability, security, and performance optimization.
  • Serve as the domain expert on AI technologies, including machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
  • Hands-on development and delivery of generative AI solutions.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate generative AI components and algorithms based on project objectives and data characteristics.
  • Design custom models or adapt existing models to meet specific use cases.
  • Guide the development of vector stores, prompt engineering, and performance monitoring based on solution design requirements.
  • Define governance frameworks and guardrails for the ethical and responsible use of generative AI technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry and company standards.
  • Assist the sales team in pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.

Requirements

  • 10 years of professional work experience as a data scientist or on advanced analytics/statistics projects.
  • 5 years' experience in sectors such as Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, Banking, Consumer Products & Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech, Industrial Products, Insurance, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Public Sector, Telecom, Media & Entertainment, and Energy & Utilities.
  • Experience in design, development, and delivery of generative AI solutions with necessary underlying components and integration within broader IT environments.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in architecting and designing complex AI/ML systems, focusing on generative AI technologies.
  • Experience in natural language processing (NLP) and text generation is a plus.
  • Understanding of AI and generative AI domains, embeddings, and theoretical aspects.
  • Experience with RAG, vector stores, and semantic search.
  • Experience with multimodal models.
  • Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks, libraries, and methodologies such as GPT, GANs, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Familiarity with software architecture principles, design patterns, and system integration.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and hyperscaler technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
