About the position

Cotiviti is seeking a Data Scientist I - ML to join our Enterprise Data Science Team, focusing on building production-level machine learning solutions aimed at addressing real-world healthcare challenges. This role emphasizes practical application over research, utilizing machine learning and AI to enhance healthcare management and reduce costs. The Data Scientist will work with extensive datasets, collaborating with healthcare professionals to set and achieve ambitious goals, and will be evaluated based on their impact on business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver solutions to identify payment integrity issues and improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with a team to deliver value through machine learning projects.
  • Follow processes to integrate models into Cotiviti's machine learning platform for production.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover solutions to business problems.
  • Document approaches and results to facilitate collaboration with other data scientists.
  • Prepare trained models and develop validation sets for quality assurance.
  • Deploy models into production and support monitoring of their performance.
  • Collaborate with other data science teams and participate in knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Engage in design sessions to enhance the Cotiviti data science platform.
  • Provide end-to-end solutions including data pipelines and model applications.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in advanced statistical analytics.
  • 3+ years of experience in Big Data environments.
  • 1+ years of experience developing machine learning models in a commercial analytics environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL and ability to write efficient queries.
  • 3+ years of experience using Python, R, and/or Scala.
  • 1+ years of experience using distributed frameworks like Spark.
  • 1+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Professionalism in handling confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of DevOps lifecycle tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Jira.
  • Experience in the health insurance industry in the United States.
  • Commercial experience in deep learning frameworks like Pytorch.
  • Experience with Generative AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Databricks.
