About the position

As a Data Scientist III on the Product Excellence team at Walmart, you will play a crucial role in developing, deploying, and managing data-driven and AI-powered capabilities across various product portfolios. This individual contributor position focuses on enhancing the End2End (E2E) Delivery, Promise, Sourcing, Transportation, and Inventory processes, directly impacting millions of customers. You will work with large datasets and complex technical challenges, leveraging your expertise in data modeling and ETL design to drive significant business improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and manage data-driven and AI-powered capabilities across product portfolios.
• Architect scalable and resilient data solutions for real-time and batch processing.
• Support the establishment of a MLOps framework for ongoing enhancement, testing, and deployment of algorithms.
• Identify strategic opportunities for improvements in data infrastructure that create significant business impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field; or a Master's degree in a related field; or 4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
• Experience in building highly scalable Big Data solutions and ETL ecosystems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala, and ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn.
• Experience utilizing public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) to deploy scalable ML solutions efficiently.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
• Successful completion of assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R.
• Knowledge of creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
