About the position

The Data Scientist III role at TD is a senior position responsible for providing technical leadership within the Analytics function, which has an enterprise-wide impact. This position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex data analyses to various stakeholders. The Data Scientist III will manage multiple projects, work independently, and focus on long-term planning while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop sustainable data science solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership across the Analytics function with enterprise-wide impact.
  • Work independently on analysis, design, and support of technical data management solutions.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with business owners to identify opportunities for data science solutions.
  • Translate business problems into viable data science solutions using programming languages and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Visualize insights from data to communicate results effectively to decision-makers.
  • Educate the organization on data science principles and statistical validation of results.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert.
  • Monitor service and productivity levels, implementing continuous improvements where necessary.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred (e.g., math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science).
  • Graduate degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience or progressive project work experience.
  • Hands-on experience in modeling with strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
  • Knowledge of the AML domain and experience in SAS coding and Transaction Monitoring is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their applications.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
