About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Scientist Machine Learning for Cyber Security. This individual will be responsible for building advanced models aimed at detecting Cyber Security anomalies, reducing false positives in the existing Cyber Security data landscape, and enhancing the overall security posture of the organization. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, strategize, and execute Machine Learning initiatives focused on Cyber Security. You will work closely with the team to design, code, train, test, deploy, and iterate on large-scale cloud-native machine learning platforms, specifically targeting cyber security-related use cases. Your responsibilities will include utilizing Data Science skills to investigate data, develop models, and create analytics to detect and prevent cyber security-driven anomalous behaviors. You will employ Link Analysis and Graph-based analytics to uncover account abuse and identify fraudulent activities. This position will allow you to shape the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence in Cyber Security at Wells Fargo, as you will be making key decisions regarding issues that may arise during development or implementation. Collaboration and consultation with peers, colleagues, and managers will be essential to resolve challenges and achieve goals effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, strategize, and execute Machine Learning initiatives focused on Cyber Security.
  • Design, code, train, test, deploy, and iterate on large-scale cloud-native machine learning platforms for cyber security use cases.
  • Investigate data and develop models and analytics to detect and prevent cyber security-driven anomalous behaviors.
  • Utilize Link Analysis and Graph-based analytics to discover account abuse and identify fraudulent activities.
  • Shape the direction of machine learning and artificial intelligence in Cyber Security at Wells Fargo.
  • Make key decisions regarding issues that may arise during development or implementation.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Evidence of real-life experience with end-to-end machine learning projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistics and machine learning, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • Understanding of current challenges surrounding artificial intelligence, including A.I. ethics, fairness, data leakage, and model drift.
  • Understanding of learning subfields such as reinforcement learning, multi-task learning, transfer learning, and semi-supervised learning.
  • Experience using Python and related libraries.
  • Strong grasp of distributed systems and cloud technologies (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.).
  • Understanding of relational databases.
  • Knowledge of data streaming and messaging frameworks (Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, Flink, etc.).
  • SQL experience (any dialect).
  • Experience with containers and container-based deployment environments (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with advanced machine learning techniques and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cyber security principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance standards.
