About the position

The Data Scientist / Machine Learning / Python Developer position is a hybrid role based in Tampa, FL, requiring the candidate to work onsite two days a week. This long-term contract position is offered on a W2 basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with development teams to determine application requirements and writing scalable code using the Python programming language. The role involves testing and debugging applications, developing back-end components, and integrating user-facing elements using server-side logic. Additionally, the candidate will assess and prioritize client feature requests and integrate data storage solutions while coordinating with front-end developers. The position also requires reprogramming existing databases to improve functionality and developing digital tools to monitor online traffic. The candidate will work closely with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to create production-quality machine learning pipelines and solutions, focusing on performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Furthermore, the role includes building components and libraries that will enhance existing solutions and improve the delivery of new ones. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in Python development and machine learning, who are looking to contribute to innovative big data solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Python developer with machine learning.
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources into a single system.
• Familiarity with testing tools.
• Design and develop solutions using machine learning techniques.
• Ability to collaborate on projects and work independently when required.
• Expertise in big data infrastructure, distributed systems, data modeling, query processing, and relational databases.
• Involvement in the design of big data solutions with Spark, HDFS, MapReduce, Storm, and Hive.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Understanding of how to apply technologies to solve big data problems and develop innovative big data solutions.
