The data scientist will be integral to a small agile team dedicated to building a robust big data pipeline and developing AI/ML-based analytics capabilities tailored for government clients. The project involves highly innovative work that leverages AI and machine learning to uncover patterns and generate insights across diverse data types, including network IP, cellular, 5G data, video, imagery, and audio data. Collaborating with world-renowned scientists and engineers at IBM Research, the team thrives on open communication and a cohesive work environment. Team members are expected to design solutions and deliver quality models consistently and efficiently. The application of advanced data science techniques is not just encouraged but is essential, as the team regularly faces novel challenges and unique use cases. In this role, the data scientist will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying models using a mix of custom, open-source, and off-the-shelf software packages. The ability to work with various data types, including structured, unstructured, and non-text data, is crucial for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy machine learning models.
  • Build and maintain a big data pipeline for analytics.

  • Leverage AI/ML techniques to discover patterns in diverse data types.
  • Communicate openly with team members to ensure cohesive project execution.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with TS/SCI security clearance and Full-Scope Polygraph.
  • Experience with machine learning model development, evaluation, and optimization using tools such as sklearn, NumPy, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Proficiency in feature extraction, statistical approaches, linear and non-linear classifiers, and deep learning techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Ability to apply, evaluate, and modify machine learning algorithms against various data sources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Agile software development teams.
  • Interest in national security.
