About the position

We are seeking a talented and versatile data scientist with a Top Secret US Government security clearance to join our fast-paced team. This role involves working on cutting-edge technologies and innovative use cases that are critical to our government customers. As a data scientist, you will be part of a small agile team responsible for building a big data pipeline and developing AI/ML-based analytics capabilities, as well as user interfaces. The project you will be involved in is highly innovative, focusing on leveraging AI and machine learning to discover patterns and develop insights across various data types. This includes network IP data, cellular and 5G data, video, imagery, audio data, and more. You will collaborate with world-renowned scientists and engineers at IBM Research, contributing to a cohesive and collaborative team environment. Open communication and teamwork are essential as we design solutions and deliver quality models on a regular and aggressive schedule. Your role will require you to apply advanced data science techniques to confront novel challenges and use cases. You will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and deploying models using a combination of custom, open-source, and off-the-shelf software packages, handling a variety of data types including structured, unstructured, and non-text data.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy machine learning models.
  • Build a big data pipeline and AI/ML-based analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate openly and design solutions.
  • Leverage AI/ML to discover patterns and develop insights across multiple data types.
  • Work with a variety of software packages, including custom, open-source, and off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Confront novel challenges and use cases in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with TS/SCI security clearance and Full-Scope Polygraph.
  • Experience with machine learning including model development, evaluation, and optimization using tools such as sklearn, NumPy, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
  • Experience in feature extraction, statistical approaches, linear and non-linear classifiers, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Ability to apply, evaluate, and modify machine learning algorithms against various data sources.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Agile software development teams.
  • Interest in national security.
