About the position

The Data Scientist position involves supporting document capture applications within a technology-focused team. The role requires strong technical skills, particularly in building Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) models, and familiarity with Generative AI models. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale ML/NLP solutions, collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance document processing capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain document capture applications.
  • Set up supervised and unsupervised learning ML/NLP models including data cleaning, data analytics, feature creation, model selection, ensemble methods, and performance metrics visualization.
  • Develop enterprise-scale ML/NLP solutions in areas such as Named Entity Recognition, Document Classification, Document Summarization, Topic Modelling, Dialog Systems, Sentiment Analysis, and OCR text processing.
  • Work with OCR products to enhance document processing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders from various lines of business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in related roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Deep understanding and some exposure to new Generative AI open-source models.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience in software development and Agile processes.
  • At least 5 years of Python (or equivalent) programming experience to work with ML/NLP models.
  • Experience in setting up supervised and unsupervised learning ML/NLP models including data cleaning, data analytics, feature creation, model selection, ensemble methods, and performance metrics visualization.
  • Experience in ML/NLP development pipelines of large datasets, both structured and unstructured.
  • At least 2 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-scale ML/NLP solutions in one or more of the following: Named Entity Recognition, Document Classification, Document Summarization, Topic Modelling, Dialog Systems, Sentiment Analysis, and OCR text processing.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience working with OCR products.
