About the position

The Data Science-Machine Learning role is a critical position within our client's organization, which manages a diverse portfolio of companies. This role emphasizes the importance of integrity and accountability to the highest ethical standards, fostering a culture of open communication, teamwork, and personal development. The primary responsibilities include designing, training, and implementing machine learning algorithms, as well as building, deploying, and maintaining these algorithms from end to end. The successful candidate will be involved in the software development life cycle, assisting in the integration of subsystems such as data pipelines, AI/ML algorithms, and API interfaces into end-user facing products. Daily scrums will be a part of the routine, and the candidate will support the Scrum Master in these activities. Additionally, the role requires the creation of detailed documentation that describes methodologies, relevant instructions, and test results, ensuring clarity and understanding across the team. In terms of supervisory responsibilities, the candidate may oversee other data science workers or contractors at times, leading and managing data science and machine learning projects. The role demands a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to successfully deliver complex data-driven projects. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to translate complex technical details into understandable business insights. The candidate should possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, train, and implement machine learning algorithms.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain machine learning algorithms end to end.
  • Design machine learning and advanced analytics solutions, algorithms, and cloud architectures to satisfy product features and functionality defined by product owner and stakeholders.
  • Assist in integrating subsystems such as data pipelines, AI/ML algorithms, and API interfaces into end-user facing products.
  • Participate in daily scrums and support the Scrum Master.
  • Create detailed documentation describing methodology, relevant instructions, and test results.
  • Lead and manage data science and machine learning projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or a master's degree with 2 years' experience, or a Ph.D. with up to 1 year of experience, or 8 years' experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in Python and machine learning libraries & frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
  • Familiar with data processing and visualization tools like SQL, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Expertise in advanced analytical techniques including descriptive statistics, machine learning, optimization, pattern recognition, and cluster analysis.
  • Experience with Time-Series Forecasting Methods, Regression Models, and Clustering/Dimensionality Reduction.
  • Experience with cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Data/ML platforms (Databricks, Spark).
  • Solid understanding of the machine learning life cycle.
  • Experience in CI/CD Pipelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate or AWS Certified Machine Learning.
