About the position

CGI PulseAI is a human-assisted intelligence platform that utilizes generative AI and machine learning to transform and automate business processes across the enterprise. This platform enables insights-driven decision-making through predictive analytics and conversational AI, making it a highly customizable solution that integrates seamlessly with existing applications and workflows. CGI is currently seeking a Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer to join our Artificial Intelligence Solution team. In this role, you will leverage large data sets to identify opportunities for product and process optimization, employing models to evaluate the effectiveness of various strategies. You will be expected to have strong experience in data mining and analysis methods, utilizing a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, creating algorithms, and running simulations. Your ability to derive business results from data-driven insights will be crucial, as will your comfort in collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for uncovering solutions hidden within large data sets and will work closely with stakeholders to enhance business outcomes. This is a full-time position, and contract work is not permitted. Candidates should be flexible to work in a hybrid model from any of our CGI offices, including locations in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Fairfax, Lafayette, Knoxville, Dallas, Houston, Austin, and New Brunswick. Additionally, candidates must be willing to work in the Eastern time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Design & develop NLP models for text classification, custom entity recognition, relationship extraction, text summarization, topic modeling, reasoning over knowledge graphs, and semantic search using NLP tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to address business challenges.
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • Deploy, test, validate, and maintain machine learning models in production by collaborating with data engineers and machine learning engineers.
  • Develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the latest AI/ML technologies, packages, and frameworks within the data science ecosystem.
  • Integrate AI & ML models with other applications using REST APIs and other connector technologies.
  • Utilize versioning and collaborative tools like Git/GitHub.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the landscape of AI solutions, including cloud, GPU-based compute, data security and privacy, API gateways, microservices architecture, and big data ingestion, storage, and processing.
  • Carry out pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Evaluate the performance of models and refine them as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage insights, datasets, code, and models across other functions in the organization.
  • Develop and recommend process standards and best practices in machine learning as applicable.
  • Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results.
  • Partner with stakeholders to conduct research, create proof of concepts, and design solutions.
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying production-grade AI/ML solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning fundamentals.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience with data analytics and classical machine learning tools (like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and deep learning frameworks (like TensorFlow, Lang Chain, PyTorch, Flask, Fast API).
  • Expertise in Generative AI (Transformer), Computer Vision, and NLP is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to tell stories with data and deliver data-driven insights to a wide range of audiences.
  • Teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to sharing ideas and finding solutions.
