About the position

As a Data Scientist specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML), you will be engaged in a contract-to-hire position that requires a strong foundation in data science principles and practices. This role is 100% onsite in the Coppell, Dallas area, and candidates must be local to the Dallas area as relocation is not an option. The position offers a competitive salary range of $40-50 per hour, depending on experience. You will be working across all aspects of the data science cycle, which includes solving complex business problems using advanced analytical techniques and tools. Your primary responsibilities will involve utilizing various methodologies such as bootstrapping, decision trees, and market basket analysis to derive insights from data. You will develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, build and operationalize data pipelines, and create analytical tools and decision support models. A significant part of your role will also focus on pursuing predictive analytics opportunities to address business challenges effectively. Additionally, you will implement Generative AI (GenAI) to leverage artificial intelligence capabilities, enhancing data analysis and modeling efforts. Data cleansing will be a critical component of your daily tasks, ensuring the integrity and quality of the data you work with. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining dashboards and visualizations that communicate your findings effectively to stakeholders. Your ability to convey technical ideas in a clear and concise manner will be essential for collaboration and decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Solve business problems using bootstrapping, decision trees, natural language processing (NLP), and market basket analysis.
  • Develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes.
  • Build and operationalize data pipelines, analytical tools, and decision support models.
  • Pursue predictive analytics opportunities to solve business problems.
  • Implement Gen AI to leverage artificial intelligence capabilities and enhance data analysis and modeling efforts.
  • Perform extensive data cleansing.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations.
  • Communicate technical ideas to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a similar field.
  • 4-8 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Proficiency in data cleansing techniques.
  • Strong coding skills in Python or R.
  • Experience in model building with frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Transformer.
  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP), Generative AI (GenAI), AI, and Machine Learning (ML).
  • Experience with both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing, preferably AWS.
  • Ability to write and tune SQL queries.
  • Experience performing thorough exploratory data analysis.
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude, curiosity, self-driven nature, and strong analytical skills.
