Data Scientist/Product Analyst Intern (Boulder, CO - Summer 2025)

About the position

Splunk is seeking Bachelor's or Master's students for a Data Scientist/Product Analyst Intern position for Summer 2025. Interns will work on real projects in a dynamic environment, gaining valuable experience while contributing to the company's mission of building a safer digital world. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and personal growth, allowing interns to develop both technical and business skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on a short term project combining data science and product management
• Drive visible business impact with concrete goals set by you and your mentor
• Learn about Splunk, both the product and the company
• Work and socialize with other interns and full-time Splunkers
• Collaborate with diverse partners to help them make data driven decisions around how to improve our products
• Grow your technical and business skills

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related technical field
• Strong record of academic achievement
• At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship
• Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks

• Superb interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to explore open-ended questions and present compelling arguments using data
• Knowledge of Excel, SQL, and visualization tools such as Tableau
• Ability to apply statistics to real-life business problems
• Ability to articulate a business case and dissect the value proposition of a product
• Previous internship in a related field
• Bonus if able to build searches and dashboards in Splunk
