About the position

The U.S. Data Security (USDS) division of TikTok was established to enhance focus and governance on data protection policies and content assurance protocols, ensuring the safety of U.S. users. This division is dedicated to overseeing and protecting the TikTok platform and U.S. user data, allowing millions of Americans to continue using TikTok for learning, earning, creative expression, and entertainment. The teams within USDS encompass various functions, including Trust & Safety, Security & Privacy, Engineering, User & Product Operations, and Corporate Functions, all working together to fulfill this commitment. As a member of the Data Science team within the Tech and Product department at TikTok USDS, you will play a crucial role in building high-quality and timely data solutions that serve as the single source of truth for the business. Your responsibilities will include conducting product analytics to provide actionable product recommendations that drive growth, delving into data sources to understand their limitations, and communicating complex data insights through exploratory analysis and research. You will also design and monitor core metrics, understand the root causes of metric movements, and develop advanced analytical solutions and models to achieve superior business outcomes. The organization currently follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring employees to work in the office three days a week or as directed by their manager. This model is regularly reviewed, and specific requirements may change over time. Responsibilities

  • Conduct product analytics to provide product recommendations that drive product growth.
  • Deep dive into data sources, understand their limitations, and communicate complex data insights through exploratory analysis and research to suggest improvements.
  • Design and monitor core metrics; understand root causes of metric movements.
  • Design and build advanced analytical solutions and models to deliver superior business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Previous internship(s) or 1-2 years of full-time experience.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R.
  • Experience navigating and working with large data sets using SQL.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to learn autonomously, and highly organized.
  • Ability to conduct rigorous analysis and communicate conclusions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Economics, Statistics, or other science and engineering fields.
