About the position

The Data Scientist position at Photon involves collaborating with business subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand data requirements and translate them into predictive models and analytical tools. The role emphasizes the application of Generative AI, Large Language Models, and applied mathematics to develop summarization and question/answer models. The Data Scientist will also be responsible for presenting findings through data visualization techniques and assessing the effectiveness of new data sources and data gathering methods.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business SMEs to understand data requirements.
  • Translate data requirements into predictive models and analytical tools.
  • Apply techniques in Generative AI and Large Language Models.
  • Develop summarization and question/answer models using applied mathematics.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques.
  • Communicate findings and mine useful insights.
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in machine learning, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, predictive modeling, and natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in Python and R, including libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Oracle database.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Google BERT, LLama3, and RAG.
  • Proficient in model documentation and model governance.
