About the position

The Data Scientist position at Dun & Bradstreet is a full-time role within the Analytics team, focusing on leveraging deep analytical skills and financial industry knowledge to develop tools and analytics products. The role requires collaboration with clients and stakeholders to identify business goals and opportunities for data-driven insights, ultimately improving business results. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree and a strong foundation in machine learning, programming, and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with decision-makers to understand business goals and identify opportunities for data and analytics.
  • Participate in all aspects of modeling engagements, including design, development, validation, and reporting.
  • Validate the performance of existing quantitative risk models and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Grow into a Subject Matter Expert on predictive models within the Analytics team.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop new business solutions in risk analytics.
  • Manage multiple projects to meet challenging timelines.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Master's in a quantitative/applied field (Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, etc.) with 3+ years of applicable experience.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Machine Learning and AI applications.
  • Proficient programming skills in Python, PySpark, and other tools for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience.
  • Excellent client collaboration skills and relationship management.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office tools.

  • Strong business acumen, especially in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Experience in underwriting, risk, and statistical modeling roles.
  • Experience working with very large datasets.
  • Experience applying modern machine learning techniques.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning and explainability.
