About the position

As a Data Scientist Sr Advisor at GDIT, you will leverage your expertise in data science and machine learning to provide transformative solutions to clients' big-data challenges. Your role will involve analyzing large datasets, developing AI/ML tools, and ensuring cybersecurity measures are in place, all while contributing to the mission of making today safe and tomorrow smarter.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific work associated with analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
• Develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
• Analyze risk assessments within client environments to reduce threats.
• Investigate and formulate automated searches and reports from customer environments.
• Evaluate and recommend various AI/ML models and tools, including cloud-based and open-source products.
• Develop user interfaces and dashboards for reporting and monitoring capabilities.
• Ensure cybersecurity plans and processes align with standards and policies.
• Identify security risks and suggest procedures to improve security.
• Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• 10+ years of related experience in data science and analytics.
• Top Secret security clearance or higher.
• Advanced Python programming skills with familiarity in AI/ML modules.
• Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and data modeling.
• Proven experience as a software developer, particularly with language models.
• Working experience with Windows and Linux development environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct presentations.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with data science-related mathematics including statistics, probability, linear algebra, and calculus.
