About the position

As a Senior Data Scientist Advisor at GDIT, you will leverage your expertise in data science and machine learning to provide transformative solutions to complex data challenges faced by federal civilian agencies. Your role will involve analyzing large datasets, developing AI/ML tools, and ensuring cybersecurity measures are in place to protect sensitive information. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on government operations and the well-being of U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scientific work associated with analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
  • Develop data-driven solutions to complex business challenges.
  • Analyze risk assessments within environments to reduce threats using data and reports.
  • Investigate, analyze, and formulate automated searches and reports from customer environments.
  • Evaluate, test, and recommend various AI/ML models and tools, including cloud-based and open-source products.
  • Develop user interfaces and dashboards for search and reporting capabilities within hybrid cloud environments.
  • Ensure cybersecurity plans and processes align with standards and policies.
  • Identify security risks and exposures, determine causes of security violations, and suggest improvements.
  • Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • 10+ years of related experience in data science and analytics.
  • Top Secret security clearance or higher required.
  • Advanced Python programming skills with strong familiarity with AI/ML modules.
  • Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and data modeling.
  • Proven experience as a software developer, particularly with language models.
  • Working experience with Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct presentations.
  • Familiarity with data science-related mathematics including statistics, probability, linear algebra, and calculus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database management.
  • Experience in developing user interfaces for data visualization.
