About the position

AMDEX is seeking a Data Scientist Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our client in ensuring adherence to CISA standard operating procedures, quality control standards, and best practices for analytical products and services. This role is crucial in identifying technological requirements and capability gaps that enable effective data science and database utilization, while coordinating those requirements with capability providers. The Data Scientist SME will leverage large volumes of data to detect, predict, and mitigate cyber threats, utilizing advanced algorithms, machine learning, and statistical models to analyze patterns and anomalies in data. This analysis will provide insights that are not easily discernible through traditional methods. In this position, you will use data science techniques to automate the analysis of security incidents, significantly reducing response times. You will aggregate and analyze threat data to enhance incident response strategies, extracting actionable insights from large datasets to understand emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will utilize historical data to predict future cyber threats and potential attack vectors, enabling proactive measures to be taken. A key responsibility will be to develop and document repeatable and effective processes for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working instructions (WIs), ensuring that best practices are maintained throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the client in adhering to CISA standard operating procedures and quality control standards.
  • Identify technological requirements and capability gaps for data science and database utilization.
  • Leverage large volumes of data to detect, predict, and mitigate cyber threats.
  • Utilize algorithms, machine learning, and statistical models to analyze patterns and anomalies in data.
  • Automate the analysis of security incidents to reduce response times.
  • Aggregate and analyze threat data to improve incident response strategies.
  • Extract actionable insights from large datasets to understand emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Use historical data to predict future cyber threats and potential attack vectors.
  • Develop and document repeatable and effective processes for SOPs and WIs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience analyzing data from multiple disparate sources to provide cybersecurity and privacy insight.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing custom algorithms, workflow processes, and layouts for complex, enterprise-scale data sets used for modeling, data mining, and research purposes.
  • Experience with AI/ML, statistical models, and large datasets.
