About the position

The Data Scientist position at C-Vision Inc. is a full-time contract role based in Austin, TX, requiring hybrid work with on-site collaboration three days a week. The role focuses on advanced data analysis, automation, and mentorship within a research and strategy team, emphasizing the application of statistical techniques and data storytelling to drive business outcomes, particularly in the auto industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced data analysis and automation, performing in-depth analysis and designing search patterns.
• Develop automation tools for data mining and reduction.
• Mentor junior researchers and data scientists to enhance their analytical skills.
• Stay informed on technological advancements and identify cutting-edge solutions for research objectives.
• Establish strong working relationships with interdisciplinary teams including Enterprise Data and Analytics and GM IT.
• Drive the acquisition of new data and refine existing datasets to ensure quality and relevance.
• Create best practices for research instrumentation and experimentation and share with peer teams.
• Develop analytics to support complex event processing and real-time data analysis in big data contexts.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in predictive and prescriptive analytics, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
• Use structured data storytelling to communicate insights effectively.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience using data to solve problems, hypothesis testing, and creating visualizations and storytelling to address business problems.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture and database management.
• 8+ years of professional development experience.
• Solid experience with Big Data technologies in Data Bricks platform using Python/R.
• Master's degree in STEM fields required.
• Ph.D. in STEM fields preferred.

• Experience in the auto industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong data storytelling, communication, and presentation skills.
