About the position

The Data Scientist position at Amazee Global Ventures Inc. is a senior-level contract role focused on leading advanced data science initiatives. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience and will be responsible for developing complex machine learning models and strategic analytics solutions that align with business goals. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to transform data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns data science initiatives with key business goals.
  • Design and deploy predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and AI to solve complex business problems.
  • Oversee the architecture, optimization, and management of large-scale data systems for efficient processing and storage.
  • Build and maintain robust data storage and retrieval solutions ensuring accuracy, compliance, and security.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to develop data-driven solutions for critical business needs.
  • Lead and mentor data science team members, promoting skill development and a collaborative environment.
  • Translate complex analytical insights into actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Implement best practices for data quality, privacy, and compliance to maintain data integrity and regulatory adherence.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in data science, championing new ideas to enhance competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
  • 15+ years in data science, analytics, or related fields with demonstrated success in managing data science projects across various industries.
  • Expert in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Advanced knowledge in machine learning libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch), statistical analysis, and deep learning algorithms.
  • Proficient in big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Skilled in ETL processes, data pipeline creation, and database management.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and excellent communication skills for conveying complex data insights.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data governance and quality assurance practices.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies in project management.
