About the position

The Data Scientist position at SoftHQ, Inc. involves designing and implementing machine learning algorithms for various applications such as forecasting, planning, and localization. The role requires fine-tuning existing models, building clustering solutions, and developing unit tests to ensure model performance and integration into production pipelines. This is a contract position based in Bentonville, AR, with a duration of over 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing machine learning algorithms for forecasting, planning, and localization.
• Fine-tuning existing models (deep learning and neural networks) by refactoring code and enhancing integration into ML pipelines.
• Building clustering solutions for localization.
• Designing and developing unit tests and validations for model outputs.
• Integrating tests into production pipelines.
• Developing new features to improve model performance.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or related field.
• Experience with data cleaning, preparation, and featurization and selection techniques.
• Solid experience with Python and Spark.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or Scala, with the ability to write reusable and efficient code to automate machine learning pipelines and data processes.
• Experience using open source frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Torch).
• Experience with forecasting methodologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
