About the position

SAIC is seeking a Data Scientist to support an active contract with the FAA HQ in Washington, DC. This remote position involves working with cross-functional teams to analyze data throughout its lifecycle, translating mission needs into actionable insights. The role requires expertise in data collection, cleansing, integration, and analytics, utilizing various techniques such as machine learning and natural language processing to derive meaningful results.

Responsibilities

• Work in cross-functional teams with data at all stages of the analysis lifecycle.
• Translate mission needs into an end-to-end analytical approach to achieve results.
• Perform data collection, cleansing, integration, and storage/retrieval.
• Determine appropriate analytics based on data and desired outcomes.
• Utilize techniques including feature detection, statistics, data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
• Interpret the validity of results and communicate their meaning.
• Familiarity with data wrangling, analytics, and visualization software and programming languages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and six (5) years or more relevant experience; or a Master's Degree and three (3) years or more experience.
• Hands-on experience with Dataiku.
• Knowledge and use of low-code/no-code data analytics and data science tools (e.g., Tableau, Cloud AI tools).
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with Agile development teams.
• History of working with FAA or DOT data.
