About the position

The Data Scientist position at KLA involves providing critical data analysis and insights to executives and product groups across the company. The role focuses on developing databases, identifying key performance indicators, and utilizing sophisticated analytical techniques to uncover trends in large datasets. The Data Scientist will also create visual representations of data, generate reports, and maintain PowerBI dashboards to support informed decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing databases and data collection systems.
  • Identifying critical meaningful metrics and setting priorities in collaboration with internal customers.
  • Gathering information from primary and secondary sources for analysis.
  • Sorting and sanitizing data to ensure accuracy and quality before analysis.
  • Identifying trends and patterns in large datasets using analytical techniques.
  • Creating visual representations of data using tools like PowerBI and infographics.
  • Generating and modifying reports that summarize findings and provide actionable insights.
  • Building and maintaining interactive PowerBI dashboards for real-time visualization of metrics.
  • Documenting data models, metrics, and infrastructure to ensure data integrity.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years.
  • Strong mathematical skills for data collection, measurement, organization, and analysis.
  • Technical expertise in data models, database design, development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Experience with reporting packages (PowerBI), databases (SQL), and programming languages (Python, R, XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling significant amounts of information.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and interest in the semiconductor and electronics ecosystems.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
