About the position

Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to support a new contract at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This remote position involves utilizing expertise in data science and machine learning to develop, evaluate, and operationalize data models, analyze complex data sets for security threats, and ensure compliance with federal regulations, enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in large datasets.
• Generate ETL code to produce model-ready data sources by extracting, transforming, and preparing datasets.
• Select and develop appropriate modeling techniques for data analysis.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of model results and operationalize the approved data science model.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into data science solutions.
• Clean, preprocess, and analyze data to uncover actionable insights.
• Stay updated with advancements in data science and machine learning technologies.
• Create and maintain documentation for data science processes and models.
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of related experience as a Data Scientist.
• Programming skills in languages such as Python.
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills to present complex findings clearly.
• Experience working with big data technologies like Splunk, Crowdstrike, and Zscaler.

• Experience working with the Federal Government.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
• Experience working in a Cloud environment.
• Knowledge of FDA cybersecurity requirements related to medical devices and healthcare systems.
