About the position

The Data Scientist position at INGU Solutions Inc. involves analyzing pipeline inspection data to support customers globally. The role requires strong data analysis skills and the ability to work with various sensor data to optimize the Pipers® pipeline inspection process. The Data Scientist will be responsible for creating reports, maintaining Python analysis methods, and applying findings to enhance pipeline operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Pipers® pipeline inspection data and create reports for clients.
• Understand, use, maintain, and improve existing Python analysis methods for Pipers® data.
• Work with and understand IMU, magnetometer, acoustic, and other sensor data.
• Create and maintain tools using Python to optimize the Pipers® pipeline inspection data analysis.
• Understand pipeline details and information like kml-files, elevation profiles, and pipeline path information.
• Associate and relate Pipers® pipeline inspection data to the real world and apply findings to pipeline operations.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. degree in physics, mechanical engineering, or a similar quantitative field.
• Ability to process and analyze large sensor time series pipeline inspection tool datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
• 2+ years of hands-on programming experience in Python.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, or similar tools.
• Strong quantitative orientation and attention to detail.
• Experience with advanced statistical analysis.
• Ability to meet both internal and customer deadlines.
• Ability to support and work closely with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
