About the position

National Capitol Contracting (NCC) is seeking Data Scientists at various levels to support a contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and the Shipboard Maintenance Performance Group (SMPG). The role involves leveraging data analytics to enhance ship maintenance operations and improve data quality and access across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the stand-up of the Data Analytics Lab at NAVSEA Naval Shipyards.
• Recommend software/hardware analytics and data management toolsets.
• Develop data procedures and policies to govern data assets.
• Analyze and streamline processes for managing ship maintenance operations.
• Implement industry best practices and contribute to new service offerings.
• Ensure corporate data systems information protection and data governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science, or related field.
• Experience in building and leading data management and analytics projects for Federal clients.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
• Knowledge of big data technology infrastructure and environments.
• Proficient in data tools (e.g., Oracle, SQL, SAP IQ) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SAP Business Objects).
• Experience in developing machine learning models.
