About the position

The Data Scientist at Covestro is responsible for developing innovative data science solutions that leverage various technologies, tools, algorithms, and methods. This role encompasses the entire process from ideation to prototyping and production deployment, focusing on scaling solutions effectively. The Data Scientist will work across multiple domains, addressing specific challenges and translating them into actionable data science questions.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and model relationships between diverse data types across various application areas such as production, R&D, procurement, SCM, sales/marketing, and finance.
• Understand domain-specific challenges and translate them into data science questions.
• Support in creating strategies and roadmaps for the creation, visualization, and operationalization of reusable analytical models and the required end-to-end processes from prototyping to scaling in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field with 6+ years' experience in the data science domain; OR Master's degree with 4+ years' experience; OR PhD with 2+ years' experience in the data science domain.
• Experience in project management and agile methods.
• Experience working in an international environment with virtual teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or PhD preferred.
