About the position

Parsons is seeking an experienced data scientist to join our Space Operations directorate, focusing on machine learning and advanced analytical approaches within the Space Domain Awareness mission area. This role involves collaborating with software engineers and space analysts to develop innovative solutions for national security challenges in the space domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for contributing to impactful projects that enhance America's leadership in space.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software engineers and space analysts to develop state-of-the-art solutions in pattern of life, anomaly detection, and predictive analysis.
  • Implement the data science process, developing experiments, and reporting results.
  • Utilize various machine learning libraries and data manipulation tools to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
  • Work in a fast-paced, flexible environment, taking the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Maintain effective work relationships with team members and communicate findings clearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field with at least 3 years of technical experience.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries such as Apache Spark, Scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and pipeline libraries like Pandas, Polars, and NumPy.
  • Experience with data science environments such as Jupyter Notebook, Data Bricks, or Amazon Sage Maker.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, R, and/or Java.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Active TS security clearance, with SCI eligibility preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Deep Learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
  • Experience with Python web technologies like Dash, Flask, and Django.
  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Experience with AWS/GovCloud technologies.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • AWS Practitioner Certification.
