As an InfoSec Security Data Engineer (Data Security) at TEKsystems, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing existing Data Security processes, standards, and tools across the enterprise. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Data Security team to mitigate risks associated with sensitive data. This involves detecting sensitive data, classifying and labeling it, and applying encryption or other security controls to ensure appropriate access and usage, all while complying with applicable laws and regulatory guidance. You will also collaborate with internal information security and business groups to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and maturity of the Data Security function. In this position, you will join a team focused on maturing the tools and technology utilized in data security, as well as refining the end-to-end data remediation processes. Under the guidance of your manager, you will help develop programs aimed at further securing sensitive information in both structured and unstructured data environments. Your contributions will be vital in overseeing small to medium scale projects or phases of larger projects, such as expanding the use of Microsoft 365 Information Protection (MIP) and Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) for cloud-based collaboration services. You will participate in identifying business process requirements and related business/application solutions for specific needs, such as remediating audit findings or enhancing data security capabilities. Your role will also involve generating and creating reports, researching and analyzing data, and reporting trends to management and business partners. This includes metrics such as user adoption, labeling activity, high-risk users or business units, and risk exposure or remediation efforts. Additionally, you will assist in the creation, maintenance, and updates of Data Security process documents, including Data Remediation and sensitivity labeling, with integration into ServiceNow. As a subject matter expert, you will respond to inquiries from end users and business stakeholders, providing accurate information about data security policies, standards, and business processes. You will support the team in resolving alerts triggered by automated detection of sensitive information stored as unstructured data on the network. Your proactive approach will involve anticipating, identifying, and escalating issues to the Manager or Director as necessary. Staying informed about industry advancements and incorporating that knowledge into your daily work will be essential, as will participating in the evaluation and selection of new technology.
