The Data Service Delivery Manager at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) plays a crucial role in providing strategic direction and leadership to enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies. This position involves managing a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring accurate and timely data visualizations that meet end-user needs. The role also focuses on building strong stakeholder relationships, monitoring data environments for optimal performance, and implementing cost optimization strategies for data service expenditures.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to enhance data reliability and minimize redundancies.
• Manage a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers to support the development and maintenance of data pipelines.
• Ensure data visualizations are accurate, timely, and meet the needs of end-users.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Monitor data environments for optimal performance.
• Implement cost optimization strategies to manage data service expenditures effectively.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in designing and building distributed data systems and large-scale data warehouses.
• Over 10 years of experience building large-scale data analytics platforms using real-time streaming analytics, data warehouse, data lakes, Data Pipelines, ETL processes, and business intelligence tools.
• Prior experience in leading a support team of Data Engineers and BI Developers.
• Experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience in monitoring, managing, and supporting the Azure Data Lakehouse & Analytics platform.
• Strong leadership skills to mentor a team of data platform engineers.
• Proficiency in a breadth of Data Platforms, Data Integration tools, Databases, Big Data Platforms, and Cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves
