About the position

As a Data Services Manager at Sundt Construction, you will lead the management and optimization of the company's data architecture, focusing on data quality, governance, and integration. This role involves overseeing a team of data professionals, ensuring robust and scalable data infrastructure that aligns with business goals. You will drive continuous improvement and innovation in data practices while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver impactful data projects.

Responsibilities

• Continuously assess and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies to keep the data architecture modern.
• Ensure optimal performance and configuration of data systems, enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and security.
• Guide the design and implementation of data quality processes and governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Lead and mentor the data team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the development and optimization of the organization's data architecture to support data management needs.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, refining workflows to enhance agility and throughput.
• Manage daily operations of the data team, ensuring high-quality data solutions are delivered.
• Maintain a robust documentation process for transparency in data flows and self-service capabilities.
• Oversee development and maintenance of data integrations and data warehouse for seamless data flows.
• Provide comprehensive documentation for data architecture, integrations, and governance practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Azure, particularly in managing data services and cloud-based data solutions.
• 4+ years of experience with SQL, including proficiency in database management.
• 5+ years of experience in data management roles, with hands-on experience in data architecture and governance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs while delivering high-quality data solutions.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with data integration tools, Azure Data Factory, and cloud-based data management solutions.
• Extensive experience with Agile methodologies or Kanban practices.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Azure DevOps and data governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with workflow management and process improvement methodologies.
