About the position

As a Data Solution Engineer at West Bend, you will be instrumental in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business value. This role involves leveraging your technical expertise in data engineering to discover, curate, and deliver essential data for business partners. You will work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and integrate emerging BI and visualization tools to design impactful data solutions, all while collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality datasets are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Drive the creation and maintenance of high-quality business-facing datasets using various data sources and tools.
• Solve moderate data engineering problems by incorporating best practices and integrating data from multiple sources.
• Organize, validate, transform, enrich, and publish datasets while providing detailed documentation.
• Identify opportunities, methods, and tools for efficient data collection, acquisition, and analysis.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of data capabilities and support the analytics process.

Requirements

• 5 years of data engineering experience.
• 3 years in Property & Casualty Insurance with a thorough understanding of P&C insurance data and core insurance metrics.
• Proven analytical, statistical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, R, SAS, and other data engineering tools.
• Exceptional technical knowledge in software engineering and programming languages.
• Ability to manage large complex projects or processes independently.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU-commercial) designation.
