About the position

The Data Solutions Architect at Walsworth plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's data architecture. This position involves leading technical initiatives within the data team and has the potential for future advancement to a managerial or director role. The architect will ensure data integrity across the enterprise and collaborate with various teams to optimize data integration and support business applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for maintaining data integrity across the enterprise.
  • Document data architecture and flows within Walsworth.
  • Manage data analysis and integration of disparate systems.
  • Work with application development to determine data needs and data produced by the applications.
  • Create models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones.
  • Maintain data integrity in the data warehouse.
  • Monitor data integration between various data systems.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to data integration processes.
  • Field mapping of interfaces and testing interfaces.
  • Ensure high quality and optimum performance of data integration systems.
  • Optimize data integration platform for increasing data volume.
  • Collaborate with system architects and administrators to develop methods for synchronizing data entering company systems from multiple points.
  • Work with the business to provide data to all applications including BI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and a minimum of four years' experience in database administration or a related function OR an Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field and six years' experience in database administration or a related function.
  • Experience in maintaining data systems.
  • Experience in working with major database platforms (MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational data modeling (ERD), SQL, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
