About the position

The Data Solutions Architect at Webster Bank is responsible for devising and implementing a comprehensive data solution strategy and architecture. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data architecture solutions that align with the bank's strategic goals. The architect will collaborate with senior business leaders and various teams to ensure effective data usage and drive the adoption of the bank's enterprise data platform.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable and efficient data architectures, including data models, storage solutions, and data integration processes.
• Develop data management frameworks and standards to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.
• Create and maintain comprehensive data architecture documentation.
• Work closely with business leaders to understand their data needs and translate these into data solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and software developers to implement data solutions.
• Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure alignment of data initiatives with business objectives.
• Hands-on implementation of data architecture projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Monitor and maintain data systems for optimal performance and reliability.
• Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures.
• Stay updated with industry trends and technologies in data architecture and management.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within existing data infrastructure.
• Promote best practices in data architecture and data management across the organization.
• Ensure data solutions comply with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
• Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or a related role.
• Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and data warehousing solutions (preferably Snowflake).
• Knowledge of data integration tools (e.g., ETL processes, data pipelines).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong understanding of data governance and data security best practices.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
